How to fix validating identity on wireless network
The Network Connections folder and the notification area icons provide information about the state of the authentication.
If an authentication requires additional information from the user, such as selecting one of multiple user certificates, a text balloon appears instructing the user.
If you are trying to connect to the 5GHz wifi, there will be a 5g after the last 3 of the routers MAC address.
Note: If your router has multiple ethernet ports, DO NOT use the WAN port to connect a computer.
By default, the wifi SSID will always be the model of the Cradlepoint router separated by a (-) and then the last 3 of the routers MAC address.
(I tried TKIP later, when this didn't work, with the same results as described below.) So I set it to WPA-PSK / AES and entered my security key.
It's mixed letters and numbers, 32 characters long. Still "waiting for reply" in the main screen, and "cannot find certificate" on the pop-up.
My router settings: ipconfig/all results from the XP box: Again, this card a week ago.
I can't figure out why I can't get it up and running now.
